Center of Excellence
Business-to-business selling in a high tech age is fast moving and unforgiving. i2's Center of Excellence is a multiuse tour de force presentation environment. Lighting was called upon to connect with client prospects in special ways that would help make their visit memorable. The solution made luminous the space's architectural vertical and horizontal planes and layered accent light with color in a kinetic way to provide constant movement. A centralized dimming and AV control system orchestrates lighting in every space.
When conferencing rooms are in use, their 4 walls, composed of 2 etched glass panels separated by a 12" air space, turn a luminous blue from backlighting. Pure white indicates their availability. Opposite the central gathering node are accent lights and color changing LED fixtures illuminating a feature alcove. The programmable LED's allow the Center to enhance presentations to client prospects by introducing their corporate colors throughout the facility.
Small but more formal presentations are held within a self-contained theatre. Curving surfaces are highlighted by halogen track lighting in curving alignment with suspended co-polymer ceilings. Concealed neon accentuates wood walls and separates floating ceiling planes adding drama to the high tech atmosphere.
The facility's architectural feature is the main theatre where the most formal of presentations occur. Halogen downlights provide task light, while contrasting 4500°K white neon concealed between ceiling planes separates ceiling structure. 100PAR halogens and theatrical ellipsoidals concealed between ceiling planes provide stage lighting. Maintaining the luminous plane theme, projection screens are backlighted with blue filtered PAR halogens. All are orchestrated through a central dimming system.
